Creating Cognitive Access and Inclusion in the Independent Living Movement (1 Hour)
About the Training
Doing cross-disability work requires hard work and intentional outreach. As Independent Living advocates, we must constantly ask ourselves who is not at the table and take steps to include them.
Of course, sometimes we need help to know exactly how we can best accommodate and include people with all types of disabilities. View this training to learn how you can best reach and include people with cognitive disabilities – including autistic people and people with intellectual disabilities. Our presenter shares some of the most common barriers to participation for people with a variety of different cognitive disabilities and what you can do to address them.
Target Audience
CIL and SILC board members, program managers, and staff interested in outreach to marginalized populations.
