DEFINING, MEASURING, AND COMMUNICATING SUCCESS!

The competition for funding in the Federal budget is increasing all of the time, and difficult choices are being made of whom to fund at what funding levels. The Office of the Management and Budget is using a Program Assessment and Rating Tool (PART) to determine the President's budget request to Congress for all Federal programs, including Centers for Independent Living and Statewide Independent Living Councils.

The PART measures both the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and to what degree significant outcomes are achieved. Independent living programs are being rated on program design, performance expectations, and performance achievements.

Are you ready to succeed in this new environment?

When you attend this session, you will:
1. Learn more about the PART, the rating process, how it is being applied to CILs, and why it is so important to your future.
2. Find out how the Federal Government is measuring your success and what their expectations are for your performance.
3. Understand the critical differences between outputs (what you do) and outcomes (what you achieve) and why outcomes are considered most important.
4. Discuss the implications of these new outcome measures on your CIL, your Board, your staff, and your consumers, and what these measures may mean for your program operations and outreach strategies.
5. Figure out how you can respond to these expectations and have even greater success.
6. Know how high-performing organizations create a performance culture, and gain ideas for infusing staff with a commitment to the achievement of these critical outcome measures.
7. To identify meaningful ways to communicate your performance to key stakeholders and your community to get credit for the great work you do.
