Doing it Right: A Holistic Approach to Job Placement

Learning Objectives

The participants will be able to:

1. Learn a novel holistic approach to placement strategically designed to address the vocational challenges encountered by consumers with disabilities in the 21st century.

2. Distinguish the relative efficacy of SAP over the traditional placement models: Client Centered and Selective Approaches.

3. Assess knowledge, skills, and competencies required of a placement specialist by utilizing SAP: Self-Assessment for Students and Counselors.

4. Understand the complexity of human, organizational, and environmental, interaction which impacts the placement process.

5. Adopt the SAP for the clientele, agencies, facilities, and to meet local needs.

6. Identify multiple consumers’ needs in a systematic manner at intake and evaluate outcome at the end of the placement process by utilizing SAP: Intake Assessment And Outcome Evaluation.
