Understanding the Cochrane Library

Abstract

The NCDDR is charged with assisting NIDRR-funded researchers to improve the quality of their design and outcomes so that more NIDRR-funded research makes its way into the larger body of research evidence as identified through systematic reviews. To achieve this aim the NCDDR is providing a new service for NIDRR-funded researchers: online access to The Cochrane Library, free-of-charge.

Denine Tilery of Wiley InterScience will describe:

  • The aim, goals and structure of The Cochrane Collaboration.
  • Why systematic reviews are an increasingly important source of evidence of the effects of healthcare.
  • How to browse systematic reviews and protocols by topic, subject or Collaborative Review Group.
  • How to use the 'My Profile' feature to save your MeSH and Advanced searches.
