Accessing Federal Funds to Address Housing Needs: What Are These Programs and How to Organize Local Efforts to Serve Persons with Disabilities and their Families.

Abstract

Presenter will outline federal housing funding programs, such as public housing, Community Development Block Grant, HOME and Section 8. She will also provide  information on other federal requirements such as the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing and affirmatively furthering fair housing mandates as they relate to providing housing for persons with disabilities and their families.  Presenter will provide pragmatic strategies for organizing and having meaningful input into local/state housing decisions using federal funding.
