Through SAGE’s National Resource Center on LGBT Aging, with funding in part from the Administration for Community Living, SAGE offers a webinar series free of charge to ACL funded organizations (State Units on Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, Aging and Disability Resource Centers, Independent Living Centers, and other ACL funded disability resource centers). As part of the webinar offering, when at least 25% of your staff complete a webinar you may be eligible for a SAGECare credential.

ADvancing States is pleased to announce the opening of the Call for Sessions for the 2021 Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference.

For the last 36 years, the HCBS Conference has convened state and federal agencies around improving systems that deliver long-term services and supports (LTSS) for all ages and abilities. The HCBS Conference attracts more than 1,500 attendees from over 50 states and territories and highlights best practices from across the country in home and community-based services.

If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is the importance of online accessibility for people both with and without disabilities. For example, features like closed captioning allow work-from-home individuals to attend meetings and watch videos without disturbing the rest of the household. They make it easier for children with learning disabilities to comprehend the subject matter. And they allow Deaf and hard of hearing individuals to participate fully in work, learning, and social opportunities.
