Addressing Health Disparities in the LGBTQ+ Community
LGBTQ+ individuals often face health inequalities linked to stigma and discrimination. These inequalities are exacerbated when individuals are unable to access care or services or are uncomfortable asking health providers for the treatment they deserve and need. In honor of Pride Month, co-authors John Auerbach and Claude Earl Fox write that while progress has been made, there is still work to be done to ensure affordable, accessible and equitable public health services for the LGBTQ+ community.
