Public Wireless Initiative

In the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, Congress appropriated $3.2 billion to the FCC to help low-income households pay for broadband service and connected internet devices called The Emergency Broadband Benefit, it was temporairy.  It transitioned to theAffordable Connectivity Program (ACP) beginning December 31, 2021. Public Wireless, using the current ACP as a foundation, has developed The Educational Technology Program (ETP).  Instead of households getting a discount for broadband services and devices, now they pay nothing.

The FCC launched this program to help students, veterans, and the underprivileged gain access to the internet. The FCC does not have the manpower or the means to roll the ACP program out to the general public and obtain the market penetration that the program obviously deserves. To facilitate this they reached out to Public Wireless to help carry out the intended purpose of giving every qualified person the opportunity to take advantage of the program.

This is what is included in the ETP completely free for qualified applicants:

10” BLU Tablet with a Hardcase Cover and Screen Protector

SIM Card that provides 24/7 LTE Broadband Internet Service

Repair Program – if broken or damaged, send it in and we will send you a brand new replacement.

1-800 number for 24/7 Tech Support and Customer Service.

To qualify for the ETP a member of the household only needs to meet one of the criteria listed on the attachment.

(For example: Participate in SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Public Housing Assistance, SSI, WIC, Lifeline etc.)

There are a few extra’s that Public Wireless is including in the ETP such as providing the marketing materials and professionally designed flyers with QR codes and links that can easily be distributed to anyone that could benefit from this opportunity. There is absolutely no responsibility or cost to your organization.
