About the Training
Is your Center for Independent Living at the ADRC table? Do you receive funding as a program partner? The ADRC program continues to grow as aging organizations and agencies receive funding to coordinate long-term care in their communities and Centers for Independent Living are a critical piece of an effective ADRC program. However, many CILS experience difficulty creating meaningful partnerships within the ADRC system. You will learn about one CIL's experience in developing meaningful partnerships with ADRCs in their state.
Target Audience
CIL and SILC staff and board members concerned with enhanced home and community-based services for people with disabilities.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the training, participants will have knowledge and resources that will enable them to:
- Identify the IL role in collaborating with ADRC lead agencies.
- Describe benefits and advantages of collaboration between CILs and ADRCs.
- Identify examples of challenges and risks of collaboration between CILs and ADRCs.
- Describe effective strategic approaches one CIL has used to develop partnerships with ADRCs in their state for achieving the best outcomes for consumers.
