Amber is the Director of Advocacy at Access Living, a nationally recognized CIL that enables people with disabilities in Chicago to live fully-engaged and self-directed lives. As Director of Advocacy, Amber oversees both public policy and organizing activities including leadership development initiatives; systems change in housing, education, employment, and long-term care for people with disabilities; and advocacy to protect funding of vital services. Amber is also the co-founder of Feminist Response in Disability Action (FRIDA), Media Chair for National ADAPT, and a recipient of the 2012 Paul G. Hearne Award presented by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD).
